Please welcome Shaun McAlmont as the Chief Academic Officer and Provost for American Career College.
McAlmont has more than 25 years of leadership experience in higher education including early student support roles at his alma mater Brigham Young University, where he was a student athlete, and at Stanford University. His career education experience spans responsibilities from admissions to education operations. As CAO and Provost, he will oversee academic operations for ACC.
“One of the things I really love about this organization is the student-centric approach and the ability to work as a team to make it a reality for students,” McAlmont shared. “I love helping change lives and whether that's in small ways or major ways, I've had an opportunity to be involved in so many life-changing moments over time. That inspires me almost every single day.”
Prior to joining American Career College, McAlmont served as President and Chief Executive Officer for Neumont College of Computer Science. Additionally, McAlmont, who began his career in education and academic advising, served as President and Chief Executive Officer for Lincoln Education Services and President of Distance Learning for Alta Colleges Inc.
McAlmont shared that the impact education has on people’s lives has always inspired him, even from a young age.
“Growing up, my parents achieved their education over time and I've always appreciated how it advanced our family and helped in many, many ways. I've also seen the impact of education on thousands of young lives over my 25 years in education and I really love it. I just love what we do.”
McAlmont is weeks away from completing the requirements for his doctor of education from the University of Pennsylvania and also holds a master of arts in higher education administration from the University of San Francisco. He earned his bachelor of science from Brigham Young University.
