Nearly 90 students at the American Career College-Orange County donated blood to the Red Cross on July 1, just in time for it to be ready for use during the long holiday weekend.
"It wasn't painful at all. I've done it a couple of times," Erica Cazares, a surgical technology student at ACC-Orange County, said. "Easy-peasy.
"I got an email saying each time you donate you help out three people, so I just wanted to help out," Cazares added. "It's really important because we need more blood in the hospitals so when an emergency does occur, we have enough blood to supply those (in need).
The American Red Cross holds blood drives twice a year on the Orange County campus. ACC students donated 84 units of blood on July 1, enough to help save 252 lives.
