American Career College-Long Beach massage therapy students volunteered their expertise and services at the 10th annual Quench the Fire 5K/10K Run-Walk-Roll in October.
ACC-Long Beach Massage Therapy Program Director Kara Mirachi said her lead instructor Joseph Patti and eight ACC students met at 5:45 a.m. to set up in Van Nuys by 6:30 a.m.
"That’s commitment," Mirachi said.
The event, hosted by the University of Southern California's Keck School of Medicine, supports education, research and treatment of complex regional pain syndrome/reflex sympathetic dystrophy and neuropathic chronic pain diseases.
“We are deeply grateful for your generosity and support of our efforts,” stated Keck School of Medicine's Pain Medicine Division Chief Steven H. Richeimer, M.D. in a letter to Mirachi.
