American Career College-Los Angeles celebrated a big milestone for the campus in November with the pinning ceremony for its inaugural Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) class. More than 200 people celebrated ACC’s 28 ADN graduates, who walked proudly across the stage to receive their nursing pins. The class officially graduated on November 15.
Two individuals were nominated to speak on behalf of their class at the ceremony. Lindsay Morgan shared with her class, “For each of us this ceremony can have many different meanings, but the one thing we all have in common is that we have gotten to this moment not because we deserved it, but because we have earned it.” Morgan added, “We have earned it with hard work and dedication that we put into completing our education.”
Koi (Patty) Lohacharoen, LVN, BS, M.Ed., MBA also spoke to her class and shared, “I, like many of you, had been searching for the right nursing school and had waited for a long time, to the point that even our science classes had expired. For some of us, including me, this was our second chance at nursing school.” Lohacharoen also added, “I am so grateful that ACC gave us the opportunity to pursue our dream of becoming an RN.”
Susan Moreland, ACC’s Vice President for Academics welcomed the class at the ceremony, facilitated by ACC’s Director of Nursing for the ADN Program, Ellen M. Lewis, MSN, RN, FAAN. The guest speaker for the pinning was Ruthann Terry, a nursing regulations consultant and former executive officer of the Board of Registered Nursing.
“I am so incredibly proud of our students who worked so hard to get to this day,” Lewis shared. “This is just the beginning of their nursing careers and I know each has the drive and knowledge to be excellent healthcare providers in their community."
Congratulations ACC graduates!
