The optics faculty team from American Career College-Los Angeles was joined by some of their students in Las Vegas this September to attend Vision Expo West.
The ACC-Los Angeles faculty team of Adrianna Arias, Benny Calaustro and Patty Estrada were joined on the expo floor by Jose Rosas, Ganiece Gaubatz, Emily Iraheta, Lilliana Solorzano and Ramiro Ramirez to check out the latest technology in eye exam equipment, lens technology, frame designs and lens manufacturing.
"Our group networked with frame and lens vendors, professional organization representatives and other opticians like themselves," ACC-LA Student Services coordinator Ruthy Rodriquez said. "They picked up fun gifts from different booths and even ran into ACC-Ontario optics program director Karina Castaneda."
The students also had the chance to attend optics courses being offered at the expo.
"This was a perfect opportunity for our students to see firsthand the role they will play in the future of the industry," Rodriquez said. "The experience was informative and fun for all in attendance."
