The dental team at American Career College-Long Beach hosted the inaugural dental clinic for students and their families this September.
Led by dental assisting program director Monique Navarro, 30 people received free dental work from three dentists, three registered dental assistants, and 20 dental assisting students and faculty. The clinic was also supported by its sister campus at ACC-Lynwood and the other programs at ACC-Long Beach — like medical assisting, optics, massage therapy and medical billing — who participated at a prescreening health fair in August.
The event was open to all ACC-Lynwood and Long Beach students and their families in need of dental extractions, cleanings or restorations.
"This is another example of what separates ACC from other schools," ACC-Long Beach Executive Director Lani Townsend said. "Students and community are our priorities every day. I am truly proud to be a part of this amazing team."
