American Career College-Los Angeles was invited by nearby Frank Del Olmo Elementary School to participate in the annual Read Across America program. In celebration of Read Across America’s 20th anniversary and Dr. Seuss’ birthday, the theme this year featured books by Dr. Seuss.
Patty Estrada, program director for optical technician, Nadya Torres, director of Student Services, and Ruthy Rodriguez, Student Services coordinator, all participated in the program.
“The students truly enjoyed us reading to them and Del Olmo’s faculty and staff were so gracious and thankful for our participation,” Torres shared. “We were happy to be a part of the 20th celebration of the program and thank you to teachers Lillian Garcia and Juan Garcia for hosting us at Del Olmo Elementary.”
This is the first time the campus has participated in Read Across America and the team is excited to be invited back to the 2018 event and another future event for students called Career Day at the Los Angeles Unified School District.
