Students from the optical technician program at American Career College-Los Angeles had the opportunity to help their local community at the Glendale Health Festival this November.
Held at Pacific Edison Community Center, the Glendale Health Festival was a free event hosted by the Lions Club and open to area residents that needed medical and dental treatment.
“Our optical technician students were able to assist the licensed eye care specialists who were on-site performing eye screenings and exams,” ACC-Los Angeles Career Services Director Gohar Abrahamian said.
Other volunteers at the event helped provide flu shots and health screenings and also offered additional education on various medical diseases and disorders.
Besides the care services offered, the event also had healthy lunches available and activities for children and families to enjoy.
