The American Career College-Long Beach showed its true colors on May 21 at the 34th annual Long Beach Lesbian & Gay Pride Festival.
More than 30 students, staff and instructors from ACC-Long Beach took to the streets for the parade, which kicked off at Bixby Park and made its way down Ocean Boulevard.
ACC-Long Beach executive director Lani Townsend said coming together to celebrate the community's diversity and "oneness" was a wonderful way to spend part of the weekend.
"It was great to see fellow ACC associates from different campuses and college administration supporting those of us walking the 3-mile parade route,” she said.
This year’s pre-parade show was in honor of the 49 people killed at the nightclub shooting in Orlando. After the march, there were presentations by state Sen. Ricardo Lara, Long Beach Mayor Robert Garcia, Long Beach Councilwoman Jeannine Pearce, along with a special performance by Men Alive Chorus.
