Optical technician students at American Career College-Ontario might need reading glasses after donating so many books this fall.
ACC-Ontario Student Services specialist Lisa Lewis-Moss said optical tech students contributed about half of the 300 new and used books collected during the month-long drive.
“We collected 215 brand new books for waiting rooms and for child patients at local hospitals and clinics,” Lewis-Moss said. “These books will go to good use for our most precious readers.”
Lewis-Moss thanked vocational nursing clinical manager Rochelle Sanchez and respiratory therapy clinical education director Shannon Rousselo for being key players in the book drive’s success. Lewis-Moss said the new books will be dropped off by students at several locations, including Dignity Health Community Hospital of San Bernardino, the Kaiser Permanente Fontana Medical Center and Totally Kids Rehabilitation Hospital in Loma Linda.
“The generosity of our students and staff never ceases to amaze me,” she said. “Thank you, everyone, for your donations. You’re the best.”
