Forty physical therapist assistant students will be putting the clinical skills they learned at American Career College into practice as they begin treating real patients in the hospital, skilled nursing and clinical settings.
"This is an exciting milestone for these students as they have worked hard on campus learning skills and clinical reasoning for the last 15 months," ACC-Orange County Physical Therapist Assistant Program Director Janice Lwin said. "Now they will be able to apply this hard-earned knowledge in real-life situations."
Lwin said PTA Cohort 4 starts heading out on their clinical internships in late April. Now that the class is done with their didactic work and going out to utilize their skills on patients, the students won't return to school until the completion of their clinical visits.
"The internships are the final stepping stone leading to graduation in September 2018," Lwin added.
